Who is Peter Otunuya Odili
Born in 1948, Peter Otunuya Odili is a medical doctor and politician. He was the democratically elected governor of Rivers State from 1999 to 2007. Also, he is considered an elder statesman and a notable chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
He is protected by a perpetual injunction from a Federal High Court which makes him immune to any form of corruption prosecution by anticorruption agencies in Nigeria. Peter Odili is married to Justice Mary Odili of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
His book has become a point of reference in recent times, in relation to matters arising from claims about age and association, from some politicians in Nigeria.
About the Book
The book captures his early life. Peter Odili was the governor of Rivers State for eight years and he even had a shot at the presidency. The shot was nowhere near success, though.
The book explains why his presidential ambition failed; he describes it as a gang-up against his ambition. The place of his wife, Justice Mary Odili is equally relayed in the book. He talks about where he stood during the Abacha regime and the ordeal of starting life anew, as an orphan after the Biafra/Nigeria civil war ended.
